We have gone through numberous tasks and the last task will take place January 7. On January 9, the MCS Poll will be finalized and the Bowl Selection committee will announce who will be competing in the 4 MCS Bowls, and the National Championship. This project has been a success, with interesting results. With the complicated statistical formula the computer generates, the top 5 is interesting. Thomas Yeater is #1 and the MCS Computer had him during the preseason at #6 but he took marketing 2 years ago so its no surprise he is like Oklahoma, killing the competition in every task.
I am doing something brand new this year. I have retired the "Clarkeprentice" in favor of a new format I want to try this year. This year it is called the "Marketing Championship Series." This year, the students will be given certain corporate tasks and there are firings, however, this year, the format will be that of College Football's BCS. Every student was placed in one of six conferences (The Big View, The Big VI, The Big VII, Atlantic Marketing Conference (AMC), Southeast Marketing Conference (SEMC), and the Mecklenburg East Conference-5 (MEC-5)).
A new year is upon us, a presidential election year, so these are exciting times in our school. So far another good year for DECA, we have over 75 members this year. Looking forward to another good year at Park View. Of course because I'm a political geek, I will leave you with a few polls in various states. Have a good one.

Students are working on the new FLL challenge and may have started testing their robots on the playing field. I hope to place some videoes or pictures of their progress soon. So check back.
The GOP have their candidate and it seems like the DEMS are going to fight this one til the Convention in June. The question I am thinking about and everyone who is in marketing and business is which candidate is the best for business?
A girl who drives to Emporia at 6AM in the morning to get items for a project to win a Clarkeprentice task, a girl who is not only a champion on the court but has a 14-1 Clarkeprentice record (only 1 loss the entire semester in tasks!), a future NFL wide receiver who laughs at the notion "It can't be done.", a sophomore who had some of the most intellectually prominent seniors say she was the best leader in the class, and a junior who has never lost a task as a project manager (4-0) and plans on leaving Park View tomorrow as the Season 5 Clarkeprentice. I just described this year's
I know this CTE blog is starting to turn into a CNN/Fox News blog but well politics shapes the world we are in! New Hampshire primary is today and McCain and Obama are favored for their parties primary. I supported McCain over Bush in 2000, but 8 years later, I just don't think McCain is the person for the job. I was a full supporter of Mitt Romney this go round, but the more he debates and talks, the more he is Howard Deaning himself within the Republican party. Huckabee seems to be the flavor of the month right now, but he has to convince me he is as pro-business as Mitt Romney befor
