South Hill Mayor Signs CTE Month Proclamation

Several Business and Marketing students look on as Mayor Horne signs the proclamation designating February 2010 as “Career & Technical Education Month.”
South Hill Mayor Earle Horne was a guest speaker at Park View High School on Feb. 25th. The mayor spoke to forty students from Marketing and Business classes. He graciously listened to their comments and answered all of their questions. His visit was a highlight event for Career & Technical Education Month.
Mayor Horne addressed several business and marketing topics, especially how marketing has played a vital role in bringing new retail and industrial businesses to South Hill. The students listened with keen interest as Mayor Horne discussed the economic impact of growth, as well as his plans and visions of South Hill in the near future and beyond. The Mayor also included his recommendations on what it takes to get hired in a competitive business environment.
Mr. Horne signed a proclamation designating February 2010 as Career and Technical Education Month in South Hill. CTE staff and students acknowledge and appreciate the Mayor’s support for the Career and Technical Education programs at Park View High School.
